Special Visit
From Rev. McGee
Boys to Men is a group of young male students from Sixth Ward Elementary who meet once a week with Ms Melissa Aubert, Behavior Strategist, for 20 to 30 minutes. Members are expected to follow school rules during group meetings and throughout the school day. Ministers, community leaders, retired teachers and parents have been invited to participate in discussions with the group.
On Wednesday, September 28th, the group received a special visit from Rev. Magee, pastor of First Baptist Church in Vacherie. Rev. Magee spoke to students about being respectful, setting goals, and selecting good role models. Students were attentive, shared their thoughts and asked questions. Rev. Magee volunteered to design t-shirts for the group at no cost.
